Xiong wins 400IM and 100 Breast at UPS

TACOMA, Wash. — Willamette's Trai Xiong delivered a standout performance, securing first place in both the 400-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke. Puget Sound was too much for the Bearcats, securing a 137-68 win.
Willamette's men registered solid performances across multiple events, with standout performances from several key swimmers. In the 400-yard IM, Xiong secured a first-place finish with a time of 4:17.14, contributing nine points to the team's tally. Beck also made a significant impact in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing second with a time of 17:03.82, followed by a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:55.09. Olmedo delivered a strong showing in the 100-yard freestyle, capturing first place with a time of 49.40, and added a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Ethan P. Barker, Ka'olapa H. Masuko, Xiong, and Olmedo placed third. Masuko also excelled individually in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing second with a time of 1:00.15. Nicholas O. Moore contributed significantly to the team's effort, finishing third in the 1650-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. Collectively, these performances helped the Bearcats secure several podium finishes and a strong presence in the meet's overall standings.
