EUGENE, Ore. — Bushnell defeated Willamette 4-1 on August 28, 2025, at Civic Park. Bushnell took an early lead with two goals in the first half and maintained their momentum with two additional goals in the second half. Willamette managed a single goal in the first half but was unable to find the net again. Bushnell registered a total of 12 shots, with five on target, while Willamette had 13 shots and six on target.
The first half started with Bushnell taking an early lead in the fourth minute with a goal from Mia Morales, assisted by Stephanie Llanos. Despite trailing 2-0 after a goal by Leslie Monjaras in the 23rd minute, the Bearcats responded when Claire Warthen found the back of the net in the 32nd minute, narrowing the gap to 2-1. The Bearcats continued to press forward, with Ella McComas and Warthen both creating opportunities, but their attempts were either saved by Ana Augusto or went off target.
The Bearcats began the second half with an early attempt on goal by McComas in the 48th minute, but it was saved by Bushnell's goalkeeper Augusto. Despite consistent offensive efforts, including another shot by Maddee Reid in the 57th minute, the Bearcats were unable to find the back of the net. The half saw a goal from Bushnell's Addy Morgan in the 70th minute, followed by another goal by Ohu Miles in the 75th minute, extending Bushnell's lead. The Bearcats continued to fight with Erin Denney taking a shot immediately after the first Bushnell goal, but it was blocked, and the team faced several offside calls that disrupted their offensive momentum.
Looking ahead, the Bearcats will host the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on August 31. The match will kick off at 11 a.m. in Salem, Oregon.
